Professor in the Département de français at the University of Ottawa, she was named Professor of the Year in the Faculty of Arts in 2004. Since 2009, she holds a University Research Chair in language and migration in French America. She is responsible for the Laboratoire de français familier ancien and she also collaborates in the Laboratoire de français ancien.
